Papertrey Ink September Blog Hop

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by my blog. This is my first time participating in the PTI Blog Hop, and it was a lot of fun putting together my project. Here are the details of the challenge:

One of the most fun things about this hobby is the people you meet, whether in person or online, and
the things you can learn from them. Now is your chance to show off any skills you might have learned
from a fellow stamper, and perhaps even give them a little shout out to thank them for the inspiration
they have provided. Create a project using one of your favorite learned skills and perhaps after a little
blog hopping, we will ALL learn some new tips and tricks and continue to pass on the love of this hobby!

I decided to use a technique I learned from Jennifer McGuire. I have been a fan of Jennifer's cards for some time, and recently on her blog she posted a video on permanent masking using Glossy Accents.

I loved using the permanent masking technique, and the PTI Fall Leaves set was perfect for it! So, here's my interpretation:

Stamps: PTI Leaf Prints, PTI Fillable Frames #7, Hero Arts Swirl Background; Paper: PTI Kraft, Stampers Select White; Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Inks Aged Mahogany, Crushed Olive, Fired Brick, Wild Honey; PTI Mat Stack 4 die; PTI Rustic Jute twine; Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher; Ranger Glossy Accents

And because I love learning techniques, I also used inking techniques I learned from Tim Holtz. I'm very happy with how this card turned out, especially since its going out to my Fall Card Swap buddy. I hope you enjoy it, Cindy!

And, here's a bonus card I did, also using a learned technique from Jennifer McGuire. If you don't have a gem to match your project, you can use a clear gem and color it with alcohol ink. In this case, I used a Copic marker to make my gems match the Ripe Avocado ink I used in my stamping.

Stamps: PTI Four of a Kind, Fillable Frames #4; Paper: PTI Stampers Select White; Ink: PTI Ripe Avocado, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Rusty Hinge; Prima e-line gem; PTI Rustic Jute twine; PTI Simply Chartreuse button.
