This week, Erin Lincoln brings us card making craps (dice people, dice). To play along, you fill out the "worksheet" and roll the dice for each category to see what you'll be using on your project. Here's what it looks like:
- Vertical Layout
- Sketch 6
- Pretty Peonies stamps
- Think Big Favorites #16 sentiment
- Ripe Avocado/Winter Wisteria/Rustic White colors
- Tissue tape for embellishing
Here's what I came up with (I'm super excited about how it turned out!):
I stamped the smallest floral image using Versamark to create a tone on tone background on my Winter Wisteria card base. I then die cut the larger floral and the oval frame from Rustic White. I stamped the outline on the flower with Tuxedo Black and then stamped over with the solid images using Winter Wisteria for the flower and Ripe Avocado for the leaves. The oval frame was stamped using Ripe Avocado, and then I added the sentiment from TBF #16, masking it so I could stamp "Birthday" in Tuxedo Black and "wishes" in Ripe Avocado ink. I cut a rectangle of Rustic White and matted it with Ripe Avocado card stock and then added the piece of tissue tape as an anchor of the die cut frame. The floral image was added using foam dots to give it depth. I stayed fairly close to the sketch, but made it my own by adding the floral and extending the tissue tape to the top of the card.
Recipe (all PTI products except as noted):
Winter Wisteria/Ripe Avocado/Rustic White cardstock; Versamark ink, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Ripe Avocado and Winter Wisteria ink; Pretty Peonies and Think Big Favorites #16 stamps; Pretty Peonies dies; 7 Gypsies paper tape.
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you liked what you saw. If you want to see more from this week's challenge, you can visit Nichole Heady's blog HERE.
